Are you curious about what Amateur Radio means today? Would you like to have a chance to ask questions, see examples of equipment and even have a chance to operate on the air with a mentor guiding you?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, Field Day, an annual event that is the largest amateur radio exercise in the world, might be of interest to you. The Albemarle Amateur Radio Club (AARC) will be participating in Field Day 2016 at the Emergency Operations Center on Ivy Rd in Charlottesville from 2pm June 25th to 2pm June 26th. Here is a link to the location.
You’ll see several radios setup for contacts around the world, info tables and handouts to explain more about our hobby, there will be operators making contacts with other hams for most of the 24 hour period and there is even a radio setup dedicated for use by visitors interested in making their first contact.
