Thinking about Upgrading to General?

The Albemarle Amateur Radio Club is pleased to announce that a course preparing students to sit for the General Class amateur radio license will be offered via Zoom starting Wednesday evening March 24th at 7 pm Eastern time.  The class is open to anyone interested in upgrading to the General Class License and will run for 8 weeks on Wednesdays. 

The class is based on the ARRL General Class License Manual (Ninth Edition) which can be ordered at www.arrl.org and also at www.amazon.com.  There will be a license examination (VE) session following the course, details of which are being worked out.

The class will offer an overview of General Class privileges, procedures and practices, rules and regulations, components and circuits, radio signals and equipment, digital modes, antennas, propagation, electrical and rf safety; items that will be needed for the test.
