March 12 License test location

The AARC will hold its next amateur radio exam session on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 9:00AM at 

Classroom M833 at Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC). See https://www.pvcc.edu/sites/default/files/main_building_-_final_-_09_2013.pdf.

Exams will be available for all three levels of license: Technician, General, and Amateur Extra.

We will abide by any remaining COVID-10 protocols to use the facility, as prescribed by the venue. Bring a mask and be prepared to wear it upon entry.

You must register in advance. We will administer a test to everyone who registers by sitting the next candidate in order of registration.

Make sure to bring:

— A valid government issued photo ID, such as a current driver’s license, a student photo ID card, a military ID, or a passport

— $15 cash for the sitting fee (this goes to ARRL/VEC)

— A printed copy of any current amateur radio license. and

— Your FCC FRN, which you must obtain online in advance using:

If you bring a calculator, make sure you know how to clear all memories.  You may not use your cellphone’s calculator.

Pencils, pens, and scratch paper will be provided as needed. The back of the answer sheet is preferred for scratch paper.
