The Albemarle Amateur Radio Club is pleased to announce that a course preparing students to sit for the Technician Class amateur radio license will be offered via Zoom starting Wednesday evening September 29th at 7 pm Eastern time. The class is open to anyone and will run for 11 weeks on Wednesdays. The class is based on the ARRL Ham Radio License Manual (Fourth Edition) which can be ordered at www.arrl.org and also at www.amazon.com. There will be a license examination (VE) session following the class the details of which are being worked out.
The class will offer an overview of amateur radio, basic operating procedures, setting up a station, fundamental electronic theory, antennas, practical circuits, radio wave propagation and other topics that you will need to know for the test. We also will provide guidance on what to do after you obtain your FCC license.
There is no fee for this course, but students are required obtain the textbook that is being used and to register. You may register by going to SignUp Genius using this link:
