If you turn onto Alderman Road from Ivy Road, take a right turn when you reach the intersection of McCormick Road. At the stop sign, take a right turn on Edgemont Rd. Monday-Night Information Net
The Information Net is held every Monday night at 7:00 PM (19:00) local time on the 146.76 repeater (146.895 alternate). Your regular net control station, W2HD, brings you news from the ARRL bulletin and other local news of interest to hams in addition to the Amateur Radio Newsline, brought to you in real audio format by Joe, W2PVY.
Northern-Piedmont Emergency Net
The Northern-Piedmont Emergency Net meets every Thursday evening at 8:00 PM (20:00) local time on the 146.76 repeater (146.895 alternate). The NPEN is a directed net with rotating net-control stations intended to assist local amateurs with building emergency operating capabilities. The NPEN provides an opportunity to learn the basics of handling of ARRL radiogram traffic messages and participants are encouraged to develop this valuable skill. UPDATE: This net is moving to 146.730 repeater (see repeater page) in January 2013.
There is an informal get together of amateur radio operators for lunch each Wednesday at about 11:00 at the Wood Grill near Toys R us on 29 north. The Wednesday lunch bunch continues until the last one leaves. Contact Harry, W2HD, for details.
Saturday Morning Breakfast bunch
Every second and fourth Saturday Morning starting at about 7AM there is an informal breakfast at Panera Bread in Barracks Road Shopping Center; show-and-share is a popular activity, so bring your project! This is a family-friendly gathering, so pack the gang in the car and bring them along. The group continues until the last person leaves, usually about 9:30am.
