Northern Piedmont Emergency Net Control Model Scripts What If you are needed to be Net Control on Short Notice? The following two procedures are provided to assist you. Select one to use or make a similar one for your Net Control activity. Calling the regularly scheduled session of the Northern Piedmont Emergency Net for _ (DATE: i.e., July 14, 2005). Calling the Northern Piedmont Emergency Net. The Northern Piedmont Emergency Net meets every Thursday evening at 8:00 PM local time. The NPEN is a directed net, and is held on a regular basis to assist in developing basic skills of local amateurs. All stations within the coverage of the repeater are invited to join the net this evening." "Any stations with emergency or priority traffic, please call now." THE BASIC PROCEDURE USED IN PREVIOUS YEARS Use the following structure. Informals and comments will be accepted after the formal net session closes. Stations within the coverage area of this repeater, mobile or fixed, are welcome to join the net" "Stations with emergency, priority, or time valued traffic call at this time." (Handle this traffic at once) "Stations with traffic, Net business, or bulletins please come now."(List traffic and business and hold for later reporting) "Are there any mobile check-ins? "Stations with suffix beginning with A-E; (Record call and name: acknowledge each check- In. Manage in small groups of calls.)" "Stations with suffix beginning with F-J; (continue through the alphabet); K-O; P-T; U-Z." If the night s not busy use larger segments of alphabet (A-N; O-Z). (Keep a written tally of those who checked in. You may call on them for comments in any order during the comment session.) (Handle traffic first, then Net business, etc (Not rag chew) Inquire..."Are there any late check-ins?"
