Dear Albemarle Amateur Radio Club:

As always, we are extremely thankful for the help that you provided us for the 2008 Bike MS Ride, the MS Tour de Vine.  When we first started hearing about the possibility of extreme heat during the event weekend, we became nervous about what this would mean for our cyclists on the route.  However, the communication you and the AARC provided was such a relief because the entire event seemed to flow smoothly with your help.

Cayman Brownfield and the team of HAM Radio Operators and Support and Gear Vehicles were so very helpful to our event and this weekend would not have been possible without you.  Also, many thanks to Cayman and his team for the advanced preparation in planning for the event.

The tour raised over $380,000 and had 550 riders.  It was so nice to see so many people come together to join in the fight against MS.   The funds that are raised through the MS Bike Tour allow our chapter to continue providing innovative and necessary support to people affected by multiple sclerosis and their families.

We hope that all the HAMS & SAGS had an enjoyable time despite the heat and that you’ll all be able to join us, again, next year for another great event.

Many thanks,
