Amateur Radio & Military History Weekend

Ben, Jay and a Revolutionary War Reinactor and the W4DO station table

Over the weekend of Sept. 30 and Oct. 1st, the Albemarle Amateur Radio Club operated a special event station from the Albemarle County Office Building under the callsign W4DO (the club's special-event call). Several club members operated from the All-American Military History Weekend festival to contact active and retired military personnel around the world.

The club's event station was part of Amateur Radio Military Appreciation Day. The purpose of this event was for Amateur radio operators from around the world to team up during this joint effort to allow the people from our communities to gather at public locations to express verbal positive support "live" over two way radio for members of the Military, Veterans, National Guard, Retired, Coalition Forces and Military. For more information on this event, please visit armad.net.
